While many people don't need an excuse to
hit the golf course, Wyndham businesses were putting for
a good cause last week.
Over 50 golfers attended the Mayoral
Charity Golf Day, which raised $17,936.80 for Wyndham
Lodge Community Aged Care Facility. A charity auction
was also held to raise funds.

The
inaugural Mayoral Charity Golf Day was marked with
perfect weather and some great rounds of golf at one of
Victoria's
premier golf courses.
Wyndham Mayor Cr Shane Bourke said the day
was a great success.
"The funds raised by the Charity Golf Day
will assist with the refurbishment of Wyndham Lodge and
the current fit out of the first floor of Bill
Featherstone House," Cr Bourke said.
"The Mayoral Charity Golf Day provides
businesses and organisations with a great networking
opportunity, while raising money for a worthy
cause.
"I would like to thank the Wyndham
business community for their strong support for this
fantastic event.
"I would also like to
acknowledge Sanctuary
Lakes
for generously offering use of their Greg Norman
designed championship golf course."
George Begg, Kevin Hillier, Sanctuary
Lakes Club Captain Alan Smith and Darryl Luttrell were
on the winning team.
