The Sanctuary Lakes Foundation has been
developing an important role in Sanctuary Lakes Resort
and the broader community for a number of years.
The following is aimed at alerting Sanctuary
Lakes Residents to the ongoing and growing role of the
Sanctuary Lakes Foundation, opportunities to establish
contact and discuss potential projects.
Foundation
Objectives The Committee's objectives
are: * To plan, organize, promote and run fundraising
activities * To receive and consider written
applications from Members and Residents for assistance
in improving their sporting or artistic pursuits *
To consider and implement programs and events that will
develop, foster and promote sport and the
arts Foundation's
History Sanctuary Lakes Foundation's
genesis occurred in the early stages of the Resorts'
Development. It was envisaged that the Foundation
would serve as a vehicle to develop young elite golfers
within the Club such as Cameron Percey, Chris Hynes and
Kate McIntosh.
In recent times
the Foundation's objectives have been broadened with an
increased emphasis on junior development in both sports
and the arts, which includes the following: *
Increase the uptake and participation of young people
* Encourage and foster development in their
chosen field * Assist Sanctuary Lakes
representative teams in their formation and competitive
endeavours.
The Foundation raises funds
through the successful annual golf and auction day,
raffles and other events throughout the
year.
The Foundation has already
considered numerous written applications for assistance
and provided support to: * Professional golfers -
Kate McIntosh, Adam Fraser * Elite junior golfers
* Junior Pennant Team through uniforms & clinics
* Junior tennis players through providing Australian
Open Tennis tickets
Other activities that are currently
being planned include junior golf trips incorporating
clinics, practice and golf. The Foundation
would consider fundraising proposals and initiatives,
activities for young people in various fields such as
arts, science, sport entertainment and provide support
for worthwhile programs and or
individuals. Volunteer help,
ideas and suggestion are always welcomed by the
Foundation as it seeks to meet its
objectives. Contact Sanctuary

| Vacuum
Sewer Smell being resolved
|
The Club is pleased to report that
action is being taken to get rid of the noticeable smell
from the vacuum sewer station around the 15th
hole/Jardin estate as outlined in the open letter below
from City West Water.
City West Water operates a
vacuum sewerage system which services parts of the
Sanctuary Lakes Estate.
This system's collection
pump station is located in Vaucluse Boulevard, and City
West Water is currently treating exhaust from the pump
station to neutralise odour.
As a result of recent enquiries
regarding odour, City West Water has reviewed our
treatment process and increased dosing. We will also be
undertaking additional monitoring at the site.
As
a result of growth within the estate, and to provide
reliable odour control, City West Water has recently
agreed in principle to the upgrade of the odour control
system at the pump station. Under an existing agreement,
these works will be carried out by Verve Project
Management on behalf of Links Living.
A works
program has been prepared by Verve Project Management
and it is anticipated the new odour control works will
be commissioned in February 2008. The new odour
control system is designed to comply with EPA
requirements.
We appreciate feedback from
customers regarding this matter. Customers are asked to
notify our 24 hour service centre on
1800 13 26 42 to report any issues related to
odour.
If you have any further enquiries
regarding this matter, please feel free to contact
Ted Szyzska on 9313
